Except from email... (Jan. 2007)

I've renamed Bert to Sullivan Bailey... or Sully for short.  My family has decided that he reminds them of Sean Penn's character in Fast Times at Ridgemont High (Spicoli) with his free spirit and dumb surfer-dude mentality that they call him Spicoli instead... he seems to answer to both actually.

He has just fit into my life so well... he's really filled a void in my life and we're both so happy!  I never knew how much joy a little guy like him can bring into someone life!  And to think that almost didn't get him!  Now I can't imagine my life without him.

We are going to training classes every Saturday and he seems to be doing very well with that!  He's getting along great with the other fur-cousins and seems to have gotten over his issues with us humans.  He goes to his fur-cousin's (Kip)house at least once a week for a play day while I'm at work... and visits Grandma and his other cousins regularly.  Though he's crated during the day (and sleeps with me at night) he's slowly earning my trust to have his run of the house... soon.  We're also working on the separation anxiety that he has when I leave him at someone else's house... he's definitely a momma's boy!

He's loving the snow... especially when Kip is over.  We're hoping to get him accustomed to the water once the nice weather gets here.  He's already romped in the local creek but I'm not sure if he's going to be a swimmer or not.
