Update October 2008

Nellie & Quincy

Nellie tells her story of her first few days in her new home

I spent my first 3 years in a puppy mill having litter after litter until August 2007 this very nice lady, Cindy from Freedom Rescue came & took me away from the mill. She took very good care of me and told me that this was the last time I would have to have puppies. She would fix it so I didn't have to do this anymore! She helped me & stayed with me while they were being born, not like the place I came from. She was so nice, I even had my puppies on her birthday, my presents for her but one of my little girls was very sick. Cindy & Lynne rushed her to the hospital. When they came back, my little girl did not come with them. They were very sad. Cindy took very good care of me & found my 2 other girls very good homes. Cindy talked to many people to find me a good home too. I even went to Canada for a few days but I really didnt like it there & came back to stay with Cindy. Lynne came and visited us alot. I liked it when she came over. I would sit on her lap...then one day Lynne brought Gil over to meet me with thier puppy, Quincy. I liked them too!

Today Lynne & her daughter Neese came over to Cindy again and took me to her house. It's a little scary being in a different house, but I think I'm going to like it here!

Scrap pages of her week....

I twinkled in the house a couple of times but no one yelled. They put me outside and told me this is where I need to do that. I got a bath today. I really didn't like that when Lynne was doing it but I felt so much better after, I ran all over the house!

Quincy has these long big sticks he chews on. He shared them with me. I never had them before and they were really good.  Yup, still like this place!

Today we went for a ride in the car again. I was a little nervous. I was afraid I was going to have to go to another house again.

We did go to another house, but it was all empty, no furniture. I got to run all over with Quincy in the house while Lynne & Gil did some work there. Lynne told me her Mom & Dad used to live there.

After we left the empty house, we went to another one where Gil’s Mom lives so she could meet me. She picked me up and did cuddles. I liked that alot.

We made one more stop. This time it was to where Lynne’s parents live now. They were really nice to me too and I got even MORE . . . . . hugs and cuddles

Today I did something new AGAIN today. I played with toys!

I know it might not seem like much, but I never had those before and I never knew

what to do with them. Quincy is really smart. I’m learning so much from him.

Lynne had to go to work today but I really didn’t mind. I got to stay in my crate and rest so when they got home we could learn how to play outside. It was really warm today. Gil raked leaves up while Quincy chased the rake and barked at it. He looked like he was having fun.

I started chasing him. Quincy ran and chased the Frisbee. I ran after him. Lynne & Gil laughed. I never did that before.

So much to learn and do at my new home!

Lynne & Quincy had to go to work today. I stayed home again.

She told me when I learn to go potty outside that I can go to work too!

Gil got home before they did and we went outside and played together. It was kind of fun to have him all to myself. I was really tired when we came in so I crawled up on Gil's lap and took a nap until Lynne & Quincy came home.

And then it was time to...

PLAY

I got a single trusting heart, that gave devotion from the start. If you think these things are not for sale, get a brown-eyed dog with a wagging tail
